The goal of the EU's regional policy is to harmonise the development of the member states and increase the competitiveness of the economic regions worldwide, for this purpose structural funds, i.e. Euromoney, are used. In 2014, a new seven-year budget period began in the EU. During this time, a total of 3.5 billion euros will be directed to Estonia from EU structural funds, of which the area of governance of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications will implement 1.3 billion euros.
