The Ministry also supports the efforts of entrepreneurs in new markets, for example by supporting business missions or creating frameworks for economic cooperation between countries and entrepreneurs.
For this purpose, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications cooperates closely with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as other ministries, the Estonian Business and Innovation Agency, the Government Office, the diplomatic corps in Tallinn, and Estonian embassies in foreign countries.
The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications represents Estonia's positions in all major international economic organisations. The most important of them are the World Trade Organization or WTO, which Estonia became a member of in 1999, and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development or OECD, which Estonia joined for good in 2010.
