Rene Tammist

Minister of Entrepreneurship and Information Technology

Rene Tammist, the Minister of Entrepreneurship, participates in the elaboration of policies aimed at supporting the development of entrepreneurship, export development, involvement of foreign investments, technological development activities and innovation, co-ordination of the implementation of such policies and planning the required funding. The Minister is responsible for drafting economic analyses and forecasts for co-ordinated sectors and spheres.

Secretary General 

Merike Saks, the Secretary General, is in charge of the work of the structural units and advisors to the Ministry and also co-ordinates the activities of the governmental authorities and administrated state authorities within the Ministry’s area of governments.

Ando Leppiman

Deputy Secretary General for Energy

Ando Leppiman, the Deputy Secretary General for Energy, co-ordinates the development, implementation and surveillance of energy sector's development plans within the Ministry’s area of government. The Deputy Secretary General arranges the preparation of energy sector's legislation in Estonia and is responsible for drafting and protection the Government’s positions in this sphere both in the European Unions and international organisations.

Ahti Kuningas

Deputy Secretary General for Transport 

Ahti Kuningas, the Deputy Secretary General for Transport co-ordinates the development, implementation and surveillance of transportational development plans within the Ministry’s area of government. The Deputy Secretary General is in charge of the development and implementation of operational programmes that support transportational development, emergency plans, target programmes and foreign aid projects.

Viljar Lubi

Deputy Secretary General for Economic Development

The Deputy Secretary General Viljar Lubi co-ordinates the development, implementation and monitoring of development plans affecting economic development. The Deputy Secretary General organizes cooperation between the Ministry's units and other institutions concerning the development plans. He will also ensure the consistency of the plans with national development plans.

Siim Sikkut

Government Chief Information Officer (CIO) / Deputy Secretary-General for IT and Telecom

Siim Sikkut is the Government CIO of Estonia, also titled as Deputy Secretary General for IT and Telecom, in charge of digital government and society, also telecommunications and post areas. His role is to set the strategy and policies, to launch and steer strategic development initiatives and regulation, to represent the government in EU and other international organisations or collaboration in his domain.

Deputy Secretary General for Internal Market

The Deputy Secretary General Kristi Talving co-ordinates the development, implementation and monitoring of development plans affecting the functioning of the internal market in the government of the ministry. The Deputy Secretary General organizes the development of internal market as a whole, organizes protective measures in foreign trade activities and is also responsible for establishing and protecting the Government's positions in the European Union's legislative procedure.

The Deputy Secretary General Jüri Rass co-ordinates the development, implementation and surveillance of construction sector's development plans within the Ministry’s area of government. The Deputy Secretary General arranges the preparation of construction sector's legislation in Estonia and is responsible for drafting and protection the Government’s positions in this sphere both in the European Unions and international organisations
