Minister thanks travel agencies for taking efficient actions during the ash crisis
Estonian Minister of Economic Affairs and Communications Juhan Parts thanks travel agencies, who took efficient actions for bringing Estonian citizens back home during the recent ash crisis, that caused glitches in the air traffic and the closure of most European airports.
“Travel agencies worked at full blast during the recent ash crisis by finding quick solutions for bringing Estonian people back home. To put the complicated situation to an end I expect the insurance companies to give out clear statements on which losses will be covered and which losses have to be covered by people themselves,” said minister Parts.
People who were unable to return home were provided information by the website and social media channels of Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as by different travel agencies. In a situation where the air space is entirely open again, the efficient cowork between the state and travel agencies, has helped most people, who were stuck abroad, turn back home.
