Foreign Cooperation Projects

Norwegian and European Economic Area financial mechanisms

In addition to the European Union, Estonia receives bilateral aid through the European Economic Area and Norwegian financial mechanisms.
The purpose of the investment and development projects through the funding to contribute to the social and economic differences in the reduction of the enlarged European Economic Area.
 
The implementation period of financial mechanisms in Estonia was 1 May 2004 - 30 April 2009. This means, funded projects were required to begin not later than 30 April 2009 Over the entire period for the seven priority areas have been allocated 478 755 000 EEK. The Ministry is responsible for the successful implementation of the two projects.
 
The implementation of Norwegian and European Economic Area financial mechanisms is coordinated by the Ministry’s foreign cooperation projects department.

Estonian-Swiss Cooperation Programme
 
The Swiss Confederation supports 2007-2012 the socio-economic development of Estonia with about 370 million Estonian kroons.
 
From the Swiss-Estonian cooperation 8 major program / project are being funded, in addition to money allocated to non-governmental organizations and scientific scholarships.
 
The implementation of Swiss-Estonian cooperation is coordinated by the Ministry’s foreign cooperation projects department.
